One of several dairies located along Lorain Avenue, the Harry C. Walker Dairy was one of
the largest - founded in 1902. The Harry C. Walker Dairy was a wholesaler and retailer of
milk and cream. The Cleveland interurban brought milk from rural farms to the milk depot
that was located at West 106 and Lorain Avenue and distributed to the dairies along Lorain
where the milk was processed and sold.
The original two-story building (bottling room and pasteurizing room) was constructed in
1916-17, and the dairy was expanded in 1926. The original building is no longer standing.
