The
Market Square Historic District (CLC, NR)*
Market Square consists of the commercial hub that grew at West 25th and Lorain between
1865 and 1930. With the West Side Market, one of the city's most beloved landmarks, as its
focal point, today the district features outdoor dining on Market Avenue, a brew pub, a
wine bar, coffee shops, and a variety of great restaurants. Designed as a Cleveland Landmark
Historic District in 1980; its boundaries were extended in 1983 and 1985 and was placed on
the National Register in 1984.
